The Clarendon Centre was recently completed by the Clarendon Property Group which has extensive expertise and experience in Commercial Property Development and Investment.

The Group is a major shareholder in numerous commercial properties including:

PROJECT & DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE

Cairns Hotel Development

The Group has been involved in numerous projects in Cairns with a total value of approximately $50 million including:

  • Tradewinds Esplanade, an international standard hotel was developed in 1985 on a 1.75 acre site of the Cairns esplanade. This hotel cost $28 million to complete and includes 259 suites, plus restaurants, bars and swimming pool.
  • Tradewinds Outrigger was refurbished and renovated in 1986 costing $10 million.  This hotel includes 93 suites, plus a swimming pool, restaurant and extensive landscaping.
  • Tradewinds Sun Lodge, refurbished for $4 million in 1987 includes 65 suites.
  • Winning tender from Cairns Port Authority in 1988 to reclaim the land on which the Shangrila Hotel and Retail Complex is currently located.

Shopping Centre Investments

  • Stud Park Shopping Centre in Victoria was purchased for $30 million in 1992 and sold to Mercantile Mutual in 1998 for $58.75 million.  Clarendon Property Group were responsible for $15 million worth of construction which expanded the Centre to include a Woolworths supermarket, a Mitre 10 store and 20 specialty stores.
  • Victoria Square Shopping Centre in the heart of the Adelaide CBD was purchased in 1997 and currently holds a market value of approximately $18 million.  It includes a Coles supermarket and 64 specialty stores.
  • Swan Hill Shopping Centre in Northern Victoria was purchased for approximately $7 million and includes a Coles supermarket and 6 specialty stores.
  • The Greenvale Shopping Centre near Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne was purchased in 2004 and is valued at approximately $30 million.  The Centre comprises of a Coles supermarket and 28 specialty shops.
  • The Clarendon Shopping Centre, South Melbourne was purchased in 1999 and is valued at approximately $62 million.  This Centre comprises of a Coles supermarket and 23 specialty stores.
  • The Westpac Building at 63-69 Lake Street,Cairns is a five story retail/office complex in the heart of CBD, purchased in 2003 and valued at approximately $9 million.
  • Oceana Walk Arcade at 51-53 Lake Street, Cairns is a two story retail/office centre in the heart of the CBD, was purchased in 2006 and is valued at approximately $10 million.
  • 107-111 Bruce Hwy Edmonton, Cairns was purchased in 2007.  A planning permit will allow for development of a substantial office and retail complex which will be valued at approximately $10 million on completion.
